- 「Apple Watch」
2. Apple Watch

How a route reaches the Watch
- When you tap Start Run on the iPhone's Route Confirmation screen, the route is sent to Apple Watch automatically.
- Even if the Watch isn't nearby, the route has been sent. It arrives when the Watch connects to your iPhone, or when the Watch is online (for example on Wi‑Fi).
- A route on the Watch appears under Next Route. It expires 24 hours after it arrives. Routes in Saved Routes don't expire.
1. Check the Watch status on iPhone
- On iPhone, open the Profile tab and tap the gear button at the top right to open Settings.
- Open Apple Watch and check the status at the top.
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Not Set Up | Apple Watch isn't paired, or RouteRun isn't installed on it. | Install RouteRun on your Apple Watch from the Watch app on iPhone. |
| Ready | Settings and routes arrive the next time RouteRun opens on your Watch. | Open RouteRun on your Apple Watch. |
| Connected | RouteRun is open on your Watch. Routes arrive right away. | Go to step 2. |
2. Check Next Route on Apple Watch
Open RouteRun on your Apple Watch and go to the Next Route page. Depending on what it shows:
- No Next Route Yet: the Watch hasn't received a route. Create a route on iPhone and tap Start Run, or send it with step 3.
- Couldn't Check Right Now: bring your iPhone close to the Watch, or connect the Watch to Wi‑Fi, then tap Check Again.
- Sign in on iPhone: open RouteRun on iPhone, make sure you're signed in, then tap Sync with iPhone on the Watch.
- The route data was corrupted: send it again from iPhone (step 3).
- The next route has expired: the route is more than 24 hours old. Send it again from iPhone (step 3).
3. Send it again from iPhone
- On iPhone, open the map of the route you want (you can open it from Saved Routes).
- From the menu at the top right of the map, choose Send to Watch.
- If you see Route sent to Apple Watch, it was sent. If you see Watch not nearby, it arrives when the Watch connects.
4. "Apple Watch Not Reachable" when you start a run
This appears when the Watch isn't nearby or isn't connected. The route has already been sent, so tap Start Anyway to run with your iPhone. The route arrives when the Watch connects.
5. If it still doesn't arrive
- Make sure Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi are on on your iPhone.
- On iPhone, open Settings > Apple Watch > Connection & Health and tap Sync Now.
- Restart both iPhone and Apple Watch, then send the route again with step 3.
You can run on the Watch without a route: tap Free Run Instead, or pick one from Saved Routes on the Watch.
